UPDATE: Body of Jennifer Hudson's Nephew Found
A child’s body was found early this morning in a vehicle on Chicago’s West Side. There was no confirmation on the identity of the body but local media reports that police fear the child could be Julian King, the missing nephew of Jennifer Hudson, because the body was found in the same white sports utility they were looking for in connection with his disappearance.
According to ChicagoBreakingNews.com, a child’s body was found inside a 1994 white Chevy Suburban, the same SUV owned by Jennifer’s murdered brother, Jason.
Julian King, 7, went missing Friday after an unidentified assailant fatally shot Hudson’s mother Darnell and brother Jason. Over the weekend, Hudson offered a $100,000 reward for the safe return of her nephew.
"Please keep praying for our family and that we get Julian King back home safely," Hudson said in a posting on her MySpace page Sunday. "If anyone has any information about his whereabouts please contact the authorities immediately."
A suspect William Balfour, the estranged husband of Julia Hudson and step-father of Julian King, was also taken into custody but remained uncooperative. We will keep you updated.
UPDATE: Jennifer Hudson is on her way to the Medical Examiner's office to identify the body of the boy who was found dead in the back of the SUV this morning.
UPDATE 2: Chicago police have told Jennifer Hudson's family the body of the boy found murdered is that of 7-year-old Julian King, according to the Chicago Tribune. Police sources say he was fatally shot multiple times in the back of the vehicle.
