Kelly Ripa Hangs Upside Down With David Blaine in Central Park
Talk show host Kelly Ripa was spotted over at NYC's Central Park this morning, hanging upside down with illusionist David Blaine to discuss his latest stunt on Live With Regis and Kelly.
David Blaine will hang upside down for the next 60 hours straight. The magician's latest stunt, called the "Dive of Death," began 8:30 this morning as he was hoisted into position. He will end his challenge by dropping to the ground at 10:45 p.m. on Wednesday, September 24th.
Blaine told "Good Morning America" today right before he was hoisted into the air that he always found images of Harry Houdini hanging upside down "compelling to look at."
Blaine said he has prepared for the challenges by performing special exercises, meeting with doctors, and practicing a six-hour trial run.
During his mid-air suspension, Blaine will be able to lower himself for upside-down interactions with fans. He will go without food, but pull himself up occasionally to drink liquids and restore circulation.
