Whoopi Goldberg's 35-year-old daughter Alexandrea Martin is getting married to music producer Stevie J Jordan. The couple, who has dated on and off for the last six years, got engaged in December 2007.

Whoopi, 52, host of ABC's The View, gave her approval of the nuptials after having a long talk with her daughter's fiance.

A family pal revealed to the National Enquirer: "Whoopi is very protective of her daughter and her three grandchildren, so she wanted Stevie to understand how much she loves her family."

"After several serious conversations, she felt comfortable that Stevie is the right guy for her daughter and gave her approval." Martin has been married twice before.

Stevie J. has produced hits for The Notorious B.I.G., Mariah Carey, R. Kelly, Mary J. Blige, Aretha Franklin and SWV . Stevie J. was also rumored to be the male in the controversial sex tape of Eve.
