Jerry Reed Dies At The Age Of 71
Jerry Reed, the country music singer/actor has died of complications from emphysema at 71. Reed is survived by his wife of 49 years and two daughters.
As a singer in the 1970s and early 1980s, he had a string of hits that included "Amos Moses," "When You're Hot, You're Hot," "East Bound and Down" and "The Bird." He won a Grammy Award for "When You're Hot, You're Hot" in 1971. He also wrote “Guitar Man,” which became a hit for Elvis Presley in 1967.
Along with his career as a successful musician Reed also became a recognizable face on the big screen with movies like "Smokey and the Bandit."
