Morgan Freeman Involved in Car Accident

TMZ reports that 71-year-old Academy Award winning actor Morgan Freeman was involved in a serious car accident in Mississippi last night at around 11:30 pm.
 

The "Dark Knight" star was airlifted from the accident scene to a hospital in Memphis, Tenn. TMZ claims alcohol is not a suspected cause in the accident.
 

Freeman's condition is unknown but he was seen talking on the accident scene before he was taken to the hospital, so hopefully things aren’t that bad.
 

Update: His rep has confirmed that he broke his shoulder and arm.  The Mississippi Highway Patrol has identified the passenger in his car as Demaris Meyer. Freeman was driving her 1997 Nissan Maxima when he ran off the edge of the road and flipped the car.
