Dying 8 Yr Old Marries His Little Friend

In a touching story, 8-year-old Reece Fleming “married” special friend Elleanor Purgslove the day before he succumbed to leukemia.


Reece Fleming was diagnosed with leukaemia back in 2004 when he was just 4 years old. However when doctors told him that he just had a few weeks to live, Reece’s mother Lorraine Fleming and his stepfather Mick Thompson tried to fulfill all his wishes before he died.
 

“Him and Ellie had been ’special friends’ for a couple of years but then they broke up,” Mrs Fleming told The Daily Telegraph. “We said we’d have a pirate party, and Ellie came. She went to visit Reece a few times in hospital as well.”
 

Then during a recent laser tag party, Reece "proposed" to his little friend. After she accepted, their parents arranged a pretend wedding at Reece's home.
 

The emotional event took place at the family's home in Mackworth, where the youngsters even exchanged rings. Reece died the next day at his home in Mackworth, Derby. 
 

This is so sad . This story has moved me to tears. My prayers and wishes to Reece’s parents and a salute to this amazing little boy.
