Jeff Archuleta, the father of 'American Idol' favorite David Archuleta, has been banned from the set of the show, according to the Associated Press.
Jeff Archuleta has always been a little too involved in the backstage's affairs of the American Idol. It reached a point when Jeff Archuleta insisted on altering "Stand by Me," by adding a verse from Sean Kingston's "Beautiful Girls," one of two songs his son sang on the show Tuesday. This, not only made the song's message completely incoherent, it cost the producers an undisclosed amount of licensing money.
While Jeff Archuleta may deny that he’s a controlling father, he has been banned from attending all the show's rehearsals and lost his backstage pass.
