America Not So In Love With Beckhams

So, the Beckhams are finally in America and they've already earned themselves a right good slagging off from just about everyone. Their W magazine photo shoot was the first thing under fire. The designer Jessie Cobb had this to say: "[The photos] are vulgar not artistic and crass not creative. The photo where Victoria is spreadeagled across the bonnet of a car and another where she and David are near naked in what appears to be a cheap motel room simply reek of trashiness.

"In other photos David appears camp and effete, while Victoria looks like she just crawled out of the cheapest trailor in the park. Instead of appearing like the class act they clearly believe themselves to be, they actually look more like a couple of participants on the Jerry Springer show. America is actually broadly conservative in its reaction to stuff like this. I think the W photos hardly constitute an entrance with kudos or street cred....This was a cheap publicity stunt." Ouch!

It's also emerged that at least three of David's teammates are on the minimum salary of just $17,700 [£8,850] a year. They are so poor they have to flat share and have offered to clean Beckham's pool for extra cash. 

Victoria's also been cussing people out like there's no tomorrow. Good move. She told Perez Hilton that Eddie Murphy is a "Hollywood cock", and pissed just about every female in America off by saying, "They dress down quite a lot here, don't they?
